Stutzman Supports Obamacare Repeal

Statement

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued this statement following a vote to repeal Obamacare. The bill passed 239-186.

"Today, I stood with many of my colleagues and voted to repeal Obamacare. The president's health care law is simply not what the American people were promised. Millions of working Americans all over the country were kicked off their health care plans after repeatedly being told they wouldn't be. Others can no longer see the doctor of their choice and many more have seen their premiums rise. Obamacare has been a major attack on the middle class.

"The president's health care overhaul was never designed to reform the system, but instead to further empower and expand the federal government in the everyday lives of citizens. That is exactly why Obamacare remains deeply unpopular. The American people deserve better.

"As a co-sponsor of the American Health Care Reform Act from a previous Congress, I still believe a solution to our problem should include an expansion of health savings accounts, and medical malpractice and tax reforms to make health plans more affordable for working families. Going forward, I'm excited to work with my colleagues in the House to achieve this goal and help to get our healthcare system working again."
